This is a robotic clamp controlled using two inexpensive servos (SG90 or MG90). Medium size and powerful enough to lift medium size object. Assembly guide with images an videos, bill of materials and STL files ready to be printed here!
Why not to use two stepper motors to move a camera or your smartphone on a 3D printer-made slider and rotate it as it moves to track an object? Actually, the control behind this robot is pretty simple… Lets create it!
We are currently working (while we finish the control APPs of the blimpduino) in the SCARA robotic arm. The point of posting this on the web is to ask you for comments/ideas and any feedback. As we are still at this developing stage, we have time to re-think some aspects/features of this robot. A powerful, fast and reliable arm is the basic of modern robotics so… we wanted to “create” one but using regular “MAKER´s World” elements like NEMA17 motors, affordable electronics and common ancillary elements (GT2 timing belt, steel rod, aluminium tubes).
We are now moving the blimpduino project to the next stage: PCB manufacturing (mrobotics.io is working on it now. Thanks Jordi!) The electronics has passed all the tests and the Arduino CODE is 70%-ish done. I have to confess that this “robot” development is being quite exciting. The blimpduino 2.0 has been created with the primary goal of being suitable and capable of controlling as many balloons types as possible. No matter its size or shape.[caption id="attachment_5558" align="aligncenter" width="1119"] First version of the blimpduino. And yes… you can control it touching your smartphone´s screen or just using a Bluetooth controller connected to the smartphone.[/caption]

It has been easy to modify the original B-robot EVO adding new Off-road wheels (regular 83 mm diameter RC buggy wheels, quite easy to get and inexpensive). If you already have a B-robot, just modified the parameters indicated below in its code or upload this slightly modified CODE version to the Arduino: BROBOT OFFROAD

Well, this is a side project. Using the same B-robot electronic Brain SHIELD and two servos you can remotely control (via Smartphone´s WIFI) a laser pointer and play with it from far away (maximum range up to 50-60 meters). It is portable if you use a small 7-9 volts battery (Lipo/Alkaline/…).
Drive your neighbour´s cat crazy from a distance by placing the robot on the roof!.

The StarTRACKER is an equatorial mounting for night sky photography.
To take long-exposure astrophotos of objects that are too faint to be seen, you will need a polar-aligned equatorial mounting that allows you to track the stars during their exposure to compensate the Earth’s rotation.
